Goddess Katyayani is worshipped on the sixth day or Sasthi thithi of Navratri which is a form of Shakti. She is also known as the warrior goddess as she killed Demon Mahisasur, She has four arms one carries a sword other has a lotus and the next two hands are in the form of abhay and varad mudras. Maa Parvati was born at the home of sage Katyayan and so named as the daughter Katyayani. She rides on a lion.
It is strongly believed that to worship her with true devotion, Dev Guru Brihaspati is pleased and makes time for a quick wedding and gets over all the obstacles of marriage. To remove obstacles to marriage, offer her some yellow flowers, turmeric lumps, and honey.
